It does what it says on the tin! Probablly. I over calculated / overbought the required quantity, due to using the 'coverage' quotation, and it's a bit pricier than other brands of Xylene, but assured quality? I'm not a scientist. Can't comment on its prime purpose of releasing 'trapped' moisture in the imprinted concrete, as the white discolouration on mine must be 'salts' etc., that have leached out of the concrete after showing up about 3 yrs from laying, and is now 10 yrs old, and has had four goings over in that time. Used two coats, with a final sealant coat, which has improved the appearance - for now?

Product Description

Sealer Repair Fluid for removing whiteness on Imprinted Concrete and Block Paved Surfaces

If the solvent based imprinted concrete or block paving sealers have been applied in conditions when the surface is damp this can lead to problems. Surface whiteness is the most common issue and appears over time if the sealer has been applied when the surface is damp.

Smartseal sealer repair fluid should be used when problems like patchy whiteness have appeared on the surface of existing imprinted concrete or block paved driveways and patios. Surface whiteness, peeling or flaking sealer are common issues that are easily corrected using sealer repair fluid.

Smartseal Sealer Repair Fluid will restore existing imprinted concrete sealer or block paving sealer and clear surface whiteness from imprinted concrete and block paved surfaces.

  • Coverage ratio: 3 - 4 m² per litre
Technical

Sealer repair fluid is a product designed to repair incorrectly applied sealer which is lifting or sealer which has reacted with moisture during the drying process. For imprinted concrete it should be liberally applied to the affected area, left for a couple of minutes and then worked into the surface vigorously with a soft broom until the sealer goes "tacky" under your broom. This will show you have 'softened' the sealer and you then allow it to re-bond to the concrete by leaving it.

For removal of surface whiteness on block paving repeat as instructions above, but with block paving be careful not to disturb the jointing sand when working the sealer repair fluid into the surface of the blocks.

Health & Safety

Product FAQs

Q: Hi I’ve ordered a silk sealer and a sealer repair fluid as my impressions have been done about 8 years ago and is looking a bit worse for wear . Which would I put down first

Michael dymond

A: You would use the sealer repair fluid first to make good any imperfections in the sealer such as surface whiteness or flaking/peeling sealer.

Q: What is the difference between sealer repair and sealer? Do I need both to restore my driveway from a very thick application of tint?

Mo Waghorn

A: The Sealer Repair Fluid is effectively a thinners. Not a sealer. If you need specific advice please send pictures via our website. Our 'How To' guides on YouTube should also be of assistance. Hope that helps.

Q: What is the difference between sealer repair and sealer? Do I need both to restore my driveway from a very thick application of tint?

Mo Waghorn

A: The sealer repair fluid is a strong solvent that is used to thin down existing imprinted concrete sealer or to repair problems with surface whiteness or sealers that are flaking or peeling. The imprinted concrete sealer is used to seal over existing driveways or patios that are already sealed.
