Smartseal sealer for concrete has been developed to give concrete long term protection. Our concrete sealer is suitable external concrete floors and other concrete based surfaces. For most types of surface two coats of concrete sealant are recommended for optimum results.

Application
Brush or power wash concrete to remove any dirt or debris, only apply when surface is totally dry. Smartseal Concrete Sealer is best applied with a sprayer unit or roller, keeping sprayer head moving to avoid pooling. The first application must be applied to the surface and allowed to dry past tacky prior to applying the second coat. Avoid application in strong, direct sunlight - do not apply if rain is likely within 3 hours of application.
Deicing salts should not be applied directly onto any concrete sealer. Salt chemically reduces the temperature at which water freezes and will result in water ingress into the concrete. Subsequent freezing may result in the concrete ‘seal’ being broken by the expansion of water as it freezes and white ‘pitted’ areas may become visible.
Technical & Test Data
Smartseal Imprinted Sealer has been tested by the TRL (Transport Research Laboratory) and certified that it meets the SRV (Skid Resistance Value) for all categories of paving for local authority pedestrian areas and when heavily trafficked is suitable for special applications where risks of skidding are high as laid down in the UK Highway Authorities Tender Specification. Copies available on request.

Flammable liquid. Do not smoke. Keep application area well ventilated. Wear respirator when applying. Store in a cool place. Flash point 42°C (Abel-Closed Cup). Refer to the Health & Safety Data Sheet for further information.
Q: How is the dried appearance- matte or shiny?
A: The concrete sealer would be regarded as a matt sealer although there may be a slight sheen after the initial application. We would always suggest ordering a sample of the concrete sealer first to test in a small area.
Q: I am using Smartseal solvent based concrete sealer on a concrete drive that i have jet washed and allowed to dry. How long should i leave between coats? And how many coats should I apply? There isn't any info on the tin about this. Thanks, Glen
A: You should allow around 2 hours in between coats - this normally alows you to pur a second coat on once the surface is touch dry. Two coats is normally recommended. Full application instructions can be found on the tin.
Q: Hi. I am considering using this for a shed base. Is this a penetrating sealer. I want something that will be robust and last a long time. thank you
A: The concrete sealer is suitable for a shed base. It is a hard wearing penetrative sealer that is also film forming. This enables it to be hard wearing as well as act as a dust proofer.

I used this sealer on my garage floor, choosing a day with sufficient breeze to help ventilation and leaving the doors wide open. I used a long handled roller for application so that I was not positioned directly above any fumes. A wool roller is necessary as the sealant will dissolve sponge. I still used a mask and eye protection and worked slowly to avoid splashing. Dried very quickly and seemed to do the job. Recommended.
Excellent concrete sealer. It was easy to apply to my new concrete fence, the first coat looked good then applied second coat and I am very happy with how my fence looks now. I would recommend. Thanks to the great advice from sale's person and great product smartseal.
This concrete sealer saved me the 2k some builders were trying to charge me to colour and reseal my drive. The first coat was odorous and I worried that maybe I should have purchased the goggles and gloves, but by the next day the second coat of sealer went on and was not too smelly. It dried with a kind of waterproof shimmer and has darkened the drive, which was jet-washed. All in all, job done for a fraction of the price.
