Easy to Apply, Hardwearing Solvent-Based Sealer and Colourant
Smartseal black limestone sealer is a highly-effective solvent-based sealer and re-colourant for black limestone which gives a transformative effect.
Limestone slabs will often fade over time and gradually turn a lighter shade of grey. The black limestone sealer can transform the look of faded limestone patios and make them look like they were recently laid. The sealer can be re-applied at any time to ensure any limestone slabs on patios or other external surfaces look good at all times.
Preparation:
- Clean surface using a pressure washer and/or Patio Clean Xtreme.
- Allow to dry for a minimum of 72 hours
- Apply above 12°C with a temperature no higher than 23°C
- Two coats are recommended
- Apply by roller
- Coverage: Average coverage approx. 4 - 5m²/litre first coat (dependant on surface) and approx. 6 - 8m²/litre second coat
Always apply to a test area first to determine suitability. A sample size (150 ml) is available for purchase should you wish to try it before committing to purchase 5 Litres.
***PLEASE NOTE*** - For best results, if a sweep-in jointing compound has been used when the slabs were laid, we would recommend using the residue remover prior to application.
Q: How should I clean the paving that has been sealed with the Black Limestone sealer? Should I avoid pressure washing?
A: You can clean it as if it wasnt sealed. A domestic pressure washer wil not have any adverse effect on the black limestone sealer once it has completely dried.
Q: How long should I allow between coats of the Black Limestone sealer?
A: Once the 1st coat is touch dry, you can apply the 2nd. This would normally be approximately around two hours. Hope that helps.
Q: I have 2 tins left over that haven't been opened ( i bought 6 as per calculations on your website ).. How long will they last for ?
A: As long as the tins are unopened and stored away from heat or frost you should be able to use the contents within 12-18 months and possibly longer.

Not to Quote another companies product..this stuff does what is says on the tin. This black limestone sealer transformed my dull looking grey limestone to a real blackwet look.
